How should I choose a configuration? Why are there no official class-specific configurations?

EXBoss is developed on a simple principle: addon developers should focus on building a solid addon, while people who enjoy studying and refining configurations can create and optimize them.
We do not create an official configuration for every class. You can adjust the addon to suit your own habits, or use a configuration that another player, configuration author, or streamer has spent time refining.

Configuration system guide
For instructions on choosing configurations, assigning them to roles, and importing or exporting them, see:

Why is the default configuration not ideal for everyone?
There is no single configuration that works best for everyone. Players have different roles, habits, priorities, and preferred types of alerts, so the default configuration may not be the best fit for you.
We believe addon developers should spend more time improving the addon's features, stability, and core quality. Users and configuration authors can then refine how information is displayed and how alerts are delivered.

Why do we encourage community configurations and sharing?
Many players, configuration authors, and streamers create and share their own configurations. We respect the way each author chooses to share their work and do not interfere with it.
Some configurations are not quick ten-minute adjustments. Their authors may spend one or two days, or more than ten hours, testing and refining them. Some streamers consider every ability individually and decide how to make each alert more efficient, concise, and clear, instead of simply adding a generic targeted-player message.
We respect everyone who invests time in this addon. We encourage players to exchange experience, share their work, and use configurations that others have carefully refined. When using one of these configurations, please also respect its creator's work and sharing terms.

Where should I start when adjusting a configuration myself?
• Tank: For abilities that hit the tank, consider setting a countdown that begins 5 seconds in advance so you have time to plan defensive cooldowns.
• Healer or DPS: For AOE abilities that require preparation, consider setting a countdown so you can plan healing, defensives, or another response.
These are introductory suggestions, not rules that everyone must follow. For more detailed alert planning, adapt the configuration to your own habits or refer to one created by an experienced configuration author.

Is there an official configuration for my class? Can you recommend a particular author?
We currently do not create official configurations for individual classes. Many people in the community do create them, so we recommend finding an author and shared configuration that suit your needs.
We do not designate any configuration author as an official recommendation or maintain a recommendation list. Recommending one person while omitting others who have invested just as much time can create misunderstandings, so we prefer to respect every creator equally.

Who should I ask about configuration questions?
For finding or choosing a configuration, or adjusting it to your personal preferences, explore the available options, ask the community, or contact the configuration's creator about how it is intended to work. Whether that creator offers support is up to them and should be stated in their own documentation.
The addon developers do not create configurations for individual classes on request, choose a personal configuration for each player, or tune every setting for someone. We provide basic setup instructions, but we cannot decide which configuration is best for every player.
If the addon itself is malfunctioning, first follow the “Read before asking: troubleshooting steps and support scope” article to rule out third-party interference, then report the specific problem. Configuration preferences and addon defects are separate issues.
